MNSE Visits Milwaukee Art Museum
In 2003 the Milwaukee Art Museum hosted a show displaying the designs of Brook Stevens. This included a full size train passenger car Milwaukee Road Skytop Lounge and the Weinermobile which were both designed by Brook Stevesn. They were on display in front of the museum. During the show a Model Railroad Show was held over a weekend. The MNSE was invited to display inside the Art Museum which touts the Calatrava Brise Soliel as the trademark.

Here are several MNSE members with the portable layout preparing for the show weekend.
The interior of the Milw Art Museum is probably the most attractive venue I have seen for a Model Railroad Show
Club Members Ron Wroblewski and Carl Ball man the layout making sure trains keep moving and answering questions
MNSE member Will Waszak takes the opportunity to show off his modeling skills. Will is holding his N-scale version of the "Cedar Rapids".
Will's N-scale Cedar Rapids sits on the rear of the 1:1 scale size Cedar Rapids. Will kit-bashed his N-scale version from a KATO Observation car. Great Job !!
Trainfest 2000
Trainfest is the biggest Model Railroad event in Southeast Wisconsin. It is held the second weekend in November. It is hosted by the WISE division of the National Model Railroad Association (NMRA).
Here are some shots from Trainfest 2000. WOW 6 years ago.
Trainfest 2005
Here are some scenes from the MNSE portable from Trainfest 2005. Trainfest is held at Wisconsin State Fair Park Exposition Building.
The church is "under new management". Must be the Bingo Bus parked in the lot.
A mix of old and new in the residential area.
Local Fire Dept responds to a car-train accident. Look, Listen and Live.
Big derailment on the MNSE portable. Going to take Hulcher a while to clean up this mess. Luckily the mainlines were repaired in time for trains to run
Staging Area for the emergency responders and Hulcher. Going to be a long day for alot of people.
Train Time 2006
MNSE was again a part of the Milwaukee School of Engineering - Society of Model Railroaders Train Show. The show was March 4-5, 2006. It was one of the bigger shows after Trainfest.
Here with the layout being put together. The MNSE uses KATO unitrack expandable pieces to bridge the gaps between the 4 pieces of the module.
Will and Dan prepare the layout by making some of the electrical connections. It takes about an hour to setup the layout and be operational.

One eye-catcher is the usual "Big Crash" scene featured on the layout. This one was a bad one. The bridge is an excellent place for a crash
The MNSE version of "Rochelle Railroad Park". Complete with viewing platform and steam locomotive and caboose on display. Several railfans are waiting for the next train.
A Steam train passes by the golfers at the Tee box. Hopefully the whistle didn't interrupt a swing.
Sometimes things go wrong even with good planning. Here some double-stack cars couldn't decide on which way to go.
Will and Don run trains while a young man watches the trains.
